Aren't we STRANGE?

TODAY'S COLOR IS: Deep Blue ( The color of the crushing ocean)
It is amazing to me how much importance we put on some things. Mainly our problems. They comsume our time, our thoughts, our energy, etc. We claim that we have no cotroll over them, but i tend to dissagree. I think that 'Our Problems' are like a dirty shirt that we choose to put on every day. THen after we have 'our problems' on we complain about them as though they were the ones deciding how to ruin our lives. Such nonsence i dare say. It all goes back to the saying : Happyness is a choice. This is a very small statement that packs a hugh punch. God has asked us specifically to 'cast all our cares upon Him, for he cares for you.' Its like Jesus says at the begingin of every day, "Please, let ME were that dirty shirt, I am the only one who can make it clean." This example can be used for Sin as well. We choose to sin every day. CHrist has already died for those sins so why, in heavens name do we go back to them? WE DON'T HAVE TO! We don't go the long way to drive some where, we choose the shortest route so as to save time and be more effective. That is all God is asking of us. Choose His way for us so that we can be more effective for Him and please Him. And in pleasing Him we find the true happyness that we vainly seek for when we choose our own way.
The STRANGE about we humans is how often we make things difficult for ourselves and others when we choose to embrase our problems and our sin. Baffling, and nothing short of confusing. Even in evaluating my own life i see places where i choose my own way and i end up worse than i was before. I think this is why the Apostal Paul talks about 'Dying to our selves' It is truly a daily battle and It can get pretty hard sometimes but that is also why God wants us to spend time in His word so He can support us.
So the next time you getdown about your problems or you are struggling with a sin in your life, don't ambrace it and try to solve it, give it to the Father. Because remember, He is the one who wants our 'dirty laundry' for only He is able to 'clean up our lives'.

A Friend told me something the other day that fits with this perfectly: "You could never climb a mountain if it was smooth, it has to be rough in order to get grip. Otherwise you would simply slide back down every time you started to go up." Jacob Bunch

On to lighter thoughts:
I recently did a character sketch on King Arthur. I thought it would be good to put it on my blog.
Here it is:
King Arthur

The first moment I saw him, I knew he was a king. He was of athletic build. He had powerful legs that would make him impossible to unhorse in a joust and arms that could wield any broad sword or battle axe. His tunic and hose were of deep green and on his huge chest was a blazing red dragon- a sign of his power, to be sure. His face was clean shaven and his head was bare to reveal flowing locks of golden blond hair. I had heard many stories about this man. People told of his bravery while others told of his chivalry, but right now the only stories that came to mind were of his fierce temper.
I trembled and regretted ever thinking that I could threaten any part of a kingdom-even if it was just robbing poor farmers- with out dealing with its king. He walked toward me, his large frame filling my vision. My faithful comrades were now all to willing to fully stand behind their ‘fearless leader’. His knights were yelling out their opinions of our band and what should be done with us. He stopped in front of me and held up his hand. The noise ceased, even the horses chomped their grass quieter. At first it warmed me with respect but soon was replaced with a terrible fear. I swallowed hard wondering how I would be dealt with. I mustered the courage to look into his face and saw there something that would refute any story about temper. His eyes were soft and full of compassion and forgiveness. Then he spoke, “Boy, while ye have pillaged and stolen and lived of the fat of honest men, I find that ye have done a greater offence to none but yourself.” I was dumbfounded. “For Sooth, ye have paid the high price for your wicked deeds with your very own honor” Shame hit me with the full force of a great war hammer. Every joy at the expense of someone else suddenly turned to dust leaving me hollow inside. “But,” he continued, “I believe that every man should have a second chance at honor if he would have it. For I find also that mercy is another quality men often sell for selfish desires.” I soon realized the full meaning of his words. We were offered vassalage to this merciful king who in return would allow us to repay our debts and regain our long spent honor. We who accepted were sent to his castle where we work to this day. I have my honor back, but I also have a quality that saved my wretched life and shall leave the name of ‘King Arthur’ ringing loudly through the halls of time. That quality is Mercy: Savior of wretched and quality of kings.

I would write more to day but school work bekons so untill next time...
